I was thinking yet again. This time brooding over things that made me feel not of grief but of curiosity. The biggest question given to me about the human existence, humans and its devices.
To say humans are the strongest is an irony in itself.
-It baffles me how people spend their health to earn money, then spend the money to recuperate his health, then he is anxious about the future that he forgets to live in the presents, causing him to live not in the present nor the future;he lives as if he is never going to die, then dies as if he has never lived.
And by the concept of future, present and past I ask myself, what is time. It is nothing more than a measurement of how long it takes for the sun to be back in its spot in the sky again. A division of the measurement forms the hours of the clock we know. The ticking hand tells of the coming second. Yet i thought of this really carefully. To the natural world, what is time? What does 4pm mean to the natives in the wild? What does 6am mean to the fishes that swims in the seas A dog knows not the time to eat, a bird knows not the time to migrate until it is suitable to. It is only humans that live under this abstract concept of time and thus over milleniums has become its prisoner, only humans worry about time running out and not having enough 'time'
And humans are much contradicting creatures. We save the words we need to say to the last and the words that hurt as the first, harsh words to the ones we love and nice subtleties to people we dont. We smile for the people we dislike and turn our faces down in front of the people we do. Just as quoted, people say they love the rain but when it does, people close their windows. People say they love the sun but stand under umbrellas when it shines. Maybe that's why, i'm scared when people say they love me.
Humans go against the flow of nature, to destroy the world by burning the soil and flaming trees down then printing flyers after flyers to save the earth. Medicine disrupts the natural balance of the world by keeping more people alive, straining the ability of this earth. The media takes our eyes away from the truth, that industries dump tonnes of toxic wastes into water bodies and radioactive sludge into seas. The fukushima nuclear disaster is spreading radioactive particles to as far as North America now. The industries of a few men that pollutes the opportunities of the free world and the blame is pushed to the masses, earth hour and campaigns to save the earth. One million people's waste can be as deadly as the waste of one factory site. How many of them are there in this world. And the government knows that to have this released to the masses, it will cause an anarchy to the order and law of this world.
Order and law? This is a good one. In the democratic world exists freedom, justice and mercy. Illusions. Merely illusions created by the few people who hide behind shadows to keep people from revolutionising by manipulating them, contorting what they believe by commercializing wants in the absence of need. Should the same human be placed in the wild, only will they understand that freedom is an illusion, justice is a farce and mercy is no more than a joke. Just like time, humans require abstracts concepts to distract them from understanding the vastness of the world outside. Humans require these abstract concepts to hold together the confusion of what they dont understand; they turn to something they believe to hold themselves together when they are presented and challenged about what they know. When violence occurs, people think of the police. When wars occurs, the armies. And strangely most people only realise how real justice, freedom and mercy are on the battlefield when fending for their lives, when the bullet is inches from their face. And when people finally die, they see what time can do, what freedom has done to their minds and where justice has served them on the death bed. Should all these concepts be re-thought of, the entire world would fall into chaos because people imprisoned themselves to such.
And most importantly, humans do not earn from killing animals and harvesting, because for every unnecessary killing is a butterfly effect many years later, repaid in natural disasters and climate change because ultimately, we share one world and because of the presence of humans, this world is toppling over and slow removing itself of the irritants.
Humans construct so many concept to keep themselves in check. Take all the constructs of society away, all the concepts of time and mercy, humans are really nothing more than the next animal. Are humans the strongest because of the weapons we possess, or are the weapons possesed by humans the strongest?
